Description


The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering was established at the Libyan Academy based on the decision of the former secretary of the Libyan Academy No. (7) For the year (2004M), the Department of Architecture was merged with the Department of Civil Engineering into one department under the name Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering, based on the decision of the former secretary Libyan Academy No. (125 )For the year (2008M).

Vision


The future vision of the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering is to be one of the leading departments in the field of research, study, the number of scientific and teaching staff and to build an advanced and important scientific center in the fields of civil and architectural engineering, interesting especially for the state of Libya and the world in general.

Message


Training of eminent civil and architectural engineering personnel and leadership in conducting research and studies, knowledge transfer and localization of technology for community service and development.

Goals


  1. The number of qualified engineers in specific fields who are able to perform the profession with high efficiency according to the latest knowledge of science and using advanced technologies in the areas of analysis, design, implementation and supervision of engineering projects.
  2. Preparation of scientific and pedagogical personnel for teaching at engineering institutes and universities and for carrying out research and scientific studies.
  3. To consolidate and develop the scientific-research base among students of the department and to prepare experts in the field of civil and architectural engineering through in-depth and purely serious professional study for innovative scientific and applied additions and the discovery of new facts.
  4. Encouraging scientific competences to keep up with the rapid progress of science and technology and push them to creativity and innovation
  5. Development of scientific research, its support and organization, communication with industrial and manufacturing institutions using research results and technological applications, providing scientific and engineering consultations and technical services to public and private institutions in the state and developing scientific trends to solve community problems.
  6. To accept scientific conferences and seminars that can contribute to the development of methods and approaches adopted in all areas of life.
  7. To provide opportunities for undergraduate and specialist education in civil and architectural engineering for continuing university studies locally.
